League Game

Civil Service FC made the journey to Shobdon in a confident mood but with a few changes needed to the side. However with the side knowing a win would see them top the league, they took the lead within minutes of the game starting as Shaun Preece, playing only his second game, finished confidently after some good work by Jamie Jones and the Atkin brothers. Service continued to push Shobdon back with Jones and Preece missing good chances in the first half. Service continued playing good football and had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside early in the second half as Judd crossed and Day volleyed expertly but to no avail. The introduction of Reece Calder caused Shobdon huge problems and they were unable to contain his pace and some excellent work led to Jones adding a second off the bar from just over a yard out… Shobdon responded and were rewarded with a penalty which they hit well wide but not long after a mistake in the Service defence led to a goal back. Service had dominated the game though and were not going to let the result slip, some good work by Preece provided Day with an open goal and he restored the two goal cushion. This remained till the final whistle and see Service go top of League Two.
