The Servicemen built on a good performance from their previous match with a good opening 15 minute spell in which they dominated Bartestree Reserves. Despite this they found themselves caught out on the break and were undone by a long ball over the top which Bartestree eventually managed to convert. Not long after Bartestree doubled their lead with a fortuitous goal which was deflected beyond Dan Gay in goal. A few words of encouragement were needed as the overall performance had been good and CSFC were unlucky to be 2-0 down, however they need a magnificent save from Dan Gay to keep the deficit to just the 2 goals. This stirred them into action and almost immediately Jamie Jones found his scoring touch with a goal from out wide, Civil Service quickly built on this with Jelfs causing constant problems on the right and laid siege to the Bartestree goal although several chances were missed Jones, Gaywood and Johnson with his first of the season managed to put Service into a 4-2 lead. CSFC remained on top and although Bartestree missed a generously given penalty they never looked like causing the home side problems. Judd and Leonard both missed chances to extend the lead late on but it was a good 3 points inspired by an excellent man of the match from Paul Johnson.
