League Game

An extremely disappointing start to the season for the Servicemen as they found themselves 1-0 down after just seconds of their opening league game of the season. Despite Dore Valley being one of the expected promotion favourites from this league having turned down promotion last season it was a poor opening half of the season that ended with CSFC 4-0 behind. A combination of poor defending and at time fortuitous attacking meaning the match was effectively over. With little going forward and only a speculative Chapman effort that came off the post it was a subdued performance with commitment low and too many mistakes being made.

Wholesale changes at half time led to a much improved second half but very few clear cut chances were created, though Preece didn’t quite manage to get the ball out from his feet with the goal at his mercy.

Definitely a performance to forget and at least the season can only really improve from here.
