Civil Service’s hopes of a good run in the HFA Junior Cup were dashed after a 3-1 defeat by a strong Ledbury Town reserves side. With the Ledbury first team having to postpone their game, a few of the first teamers enjoyed a run for the reserves. If they were expecting an easy afternoon however they were sorely mistaken as the Servicemen recovered from an appalling first 15 minutes in which they just didn’t get into the game to equalise with Pete Atkin’s first goal for the club. They built on this to have the better of the last 15 minutes of the first half. Once again Civil Service missed chances at the start of the second half and the superior fitness of the Ledbury side helped them score 2 late goals to secure the win and move to the next round and a match against Tenbury Town.
